作者簡(jiǎn)介

　　羅經(jīng)國(guó)，1930年生，上海人。先后肄業(yè)于圣約翰大學(xué)、清華大學(xué)，1955年北京大學(xué)英語(yǔ)系畢業(yè)，1961年北京大學(xué)研究生畢業(yè)，1978至1980年在美國(guó)任訪問(wèn)學(xué)者。自1961年起長(zhǎng)期在北京大學(xué)英語(yǔ)系任教，講授過(guò)“歐洲文學(xué)”、“英國(guó)文學(xué)選讀”、“19世紀(jì)英國(guó)文學(xué)”、“20世紀(jì)英國(guó)文學(xué)” 等課程。曾先后任楊周翰等主編的兩卷集《歐洲文學(xué)史》（1964，1971）的主要編者和李賦寧任總主編的四卷集《歐洲文學(xué)史》（1999）的第一卷主編。著作有《新編英國(guó)文學(xué)選讀》、《狄更斯的創(chuàng)作》等，譯作有四卷集的《世界文明史》、《人造人的故事》等。現(xiàn)為北京大學(xué)退休教授。
