　　對(duì)不少英語(yǔ)專業(yè)的學(xué)生來(lái)說(shuō)，撰寫英語(yǔ)畢業(yè)論文是個(gè)難關(guān)。常常可以看到學(xué)生們枯坐案頭，面對(duì)一個(gè)早已定一的題目，冥思苦想，久久無(wú)從落筆，其痛苦之狀著實(shí)令人同情。他們通常所遇到的一個(gè)困難是不知道如何論述自己的觀點(diǎn)（to develop their ideas）?！∵@些思想活躍、目光敏銳的年輕人，不乏獨(dú)到的想法。這些想法如通過(guò)分析、比較、聯(lián)想、鑒別等手段加以擴(kuò)展，完全可以敷演成一篇很好的文章。但可惜我們的學(xué)生，往往三言兩語(yǔ)，戛然而止。倒不是他們不想把問(wèn)題說(shuō)透，而是缺乏這種論證的能力?？傆X(jué)得話已說(shuō)盡，難以再加發(fā)揮了。一篇五千六字的英語(yǔ)論文，要寫到規(guī)定的長(zhǎng)度似乎比登天還難。常常懷著焦急擬情，邊寫邊數(shù)，卻發(fā)現(xiàn)總未達(dá)到要求；有時(shí)為了湊足字?jǐn)?shù)不得不成段引用原文，將文章“放胖”（pad out），有的甚至大段抄襲國(guó)外學(xué)者的著作，甘冒剽竊（plagiarism）之大韙。因此在畢業(yè)論文中，雖然也有觀點(diǎn)獨(dú)到、文思暢達(dá)、論述精當(dāng)?shù)纳铣酥?，但總的?lái)說(shuō)，并不太令人滿意。論文寫作中還存在著語(yǔ)言表達(dá)的困難。學(xué)生們無(wú)法分辯評(píng)論文與一般記敘文的文體差別，而一概以敘述語(yǔ)言甚至口語(yǔ)化的句子來(lái)寫文學(xué)評(píng)論，句子結(jié)構(gòu)單調(diào)呆板，缺少變化，從頭到尾幾乎都是主謂賓結(jié)構(gòu)句式，不懂得如何使用各類修飾語(yǔ)使文句搖曳多瓷姿，富有感染力。某些學(xué)生通篇幼稚刻板的語(yǔ)句往往與一二句（或一二段）從別處抄來(lái)而未注明出處的句子（或段落），形成鮮明的對(duì)照，使教師可以輕而易舉地看出其中的破綻來(lái)。

　　黃源深，華東師范大學(xué)教授，中國(guó)澳大利亞研究會(huì)副會(huì)長(zhǎng)，中國(guó)英語(yǔ)教學(xué)研究會(huì)常務(wù)理事，全國(guó)高校外國(guó)文學(xué)教學(xué)研究會(huì)理事，國(guó)家教委高等學(xué)校外語(yǔ)專業(yè)教學(xué)指導(dǎo)委員會(huì)委員兼英語(yǔ)組副組長(zhǎng)，中國(guó)譯協(xié)文學(xué)藝術(shù)委員會(huì)委員，上海翻譯家協(xié)會(huì)常務(wù)理事。1981年獲澳大利亞悉尼大學(xué)文學(xué)碩士學(xué)位，曾先后在悉尼大學(xué)、拉特羅布大學(xué)和美國(guó)賓州大學(xué)任客卒教授。主要論著和編著有：《澳大利亞文學(xué)史》、《澳大利亞文學(xué)論》、《澳大利亞文化簡(jiǎn)論》、《當(dāng)代澳大利亞社會(huì)》、《澳大利亞文學(xué)作品選讀》、《高等學(xué)校英語(yǔ)教材》（1－8冊(cè)），并發(fā)表有論文40多篇。主要譯著有：《簡(jiǎn)·愛(ài)》、《我的光輝生涯》、《驚醒》等。
