　　本書為《教育碩士英語教程》（上）。全書共十個(gè)單元，供一學(xué)期使用。每一單元包括三篇課文。第一篇為精讀材料，第二、三篇為泛讀材料。三篇文章圍繞同一題材展開，約 4 500詞。精讀課文配有生詞表，提供英、漢兩種釋義。十篇精讀課文的生詞表中含有4對級(jí)程度的生詞315個(gè)，6級(jí)以上的詞匯246個(gè)，詞組117個(gè)，專有名詞110 個(gè)，共計(jì)生詞（組）為788個(gè)。每篇精讀課文后配有相當(dāng)數(shù)量的練習(xí)。 Reading Comprehension可讓學(xué)生在測覽課文后或教師講解課文后做，以提高閱讀理解力。 Vocabulary練習(xí)旨在幫助學(xué)生掌握精讀課文中重點(diǎn)詞匯和詞組的用法。 Structure練習(xí)幫助學(xué)生復(fù)習(xí)鞏固課文中重要的英語句型，以提高學(xué)生的寫作能力。 Translation分為漢譯英和英譯漢兩種形式。漢譯英為單句形式，旨在復(fù)習(xí)鞏固課文中重要的句型和搭配。英譯漢為段落，旨在練習(xí)翻譯技巧和提高閱讀能力。每單元的兩篇泛讀文章是精讀課文題材的延伸和擴(kuò)展。其中的生詞有中文釋義。課文后配有閱讀理解題。據(jù)統(tǒng)計(jì)，課文精讀的總閱讀量約 13 860詞，泛讀的總閱讀量為 19 400詞。《練習(xí)冊》每單元都有四篇短文閱讀，總閱讀量為16 440詞。因此，上冊的閱讀總量為49 700詞，達(dá)到大綱要求。對每單元的兩篇泛讀可作靈活處理，可由教師課堂上講授，也可由學(xué)生課后自習(xí)。最后附有兩套課文自測題，供學(xué)生作期末復(fù)習(xí)迎考之用。
