  《環(huán)境工程專(zhuān)業(yè)英語(yǔ)》是根據(jù)《大學(xué)英語(yǔ)教學(xué)大綱》(理工科本科用)專(zhuān)業(yè)閱讀部分的要求編寫(xiě)的,供理工科大學(xué)環(huán)境工程或相關(guān)專(zhuān)業(yè)學(xué)生使用,也可供同等英語(yǔ)程度環(huán)境工程師或相關(guān)領(lǐng)域的科技人員使用。全書(shū)共分為九個(gè)部分(Part)共37個(gè)單元。每個(gè)單元由一篇課文和一篇閱讀材料組成,共計(jì)74篇。課文和閱讀材料均選自原版英文教科書(shū)、科技報(bào)告、著作、專(zhuān)業(yè)期刊、國(guó)際會(huì)議論文集等。其中第一部分介紹環(huán)境工程概述和歷史;第二部分介紹空氣污染及其防治;第三部分介紹水污染的來(lái)源和種類(lèi)、各種污水處理技術(shù)、處理單元設(shè)備等;第四部分為固體廢物及處理方法;第五部分介紹其他污染及控制技術(shù);第六部分為環(huán)境影響及其評(píng)價(jià);第七部分介紹環(huán)境監(jiān)控、分析及采樣程序;第八部分介紹環(huán)境政策與管理策略;第九部分作為拓展,介紹環(huán)境與可持續(xù)發(fā)展、清潔生產(chǎn)工藝及其綠色化學(xué)過(guò)程。每篇課文均配有與課文相對(duì)應(yīng)的練習(xí),主要以主觀練習(xí)題為主,包括閱讀與詞匯練習(xí),英譯漢與漢譯英,用英語(yǔ)回答問(wèn)題及寫(xiě)出課文或某一段落的summary等。為便于學(xué)生自學(xué),本書(shū)每課配有單詞和詞組表,并對(duì)課文的難點(diǎn)作必要的注釋?zhuān)珪?shū)最后附有總詞匯表。
