　　本書具有如下幾個特點：1．內(nèi)容較新。按照考試大綱的要求，書中各套試題安排了不同的題型，包括了一些最新的題型，如聽寫填空，復合式聽寫，翻譯及簡答題等，以便使學生得到全面的訓練。各類試題所用的語言材料均選自近幾年出版的原版外文書刊和報紙，因此，學生將看到有關(guān)法輪功、中國“人世”、互聯(lián)網(wǎng)，甚至美國“9．1”事件等較新內(nèi)容，一改過去一般的試題集材料陳舊、內(nèi)容枯燥無味、互相借用的弊病。本書的作文題全部是歷年國家統(tǒng)考沒有考過的但又比較時新的話題，例如網(wǎng)吧、彩票、私立大學等。因此，試題內(nèi)容充分體現(xiàn)出較鮮明的時代氣息，并兼顧到較強的知識性和趣味性。根據(jù)國家四、六級考試委員會的決定，本書對作文的字數(shù)要求是150字。2．形式新穎。本書分成“模擬試題”、“參考答案（含聽力原文和作文范文）”及“試題詳解”三個部分。為了方便讀者使用和保存，本書試題部分的順序是第1：10套題，而參考答案和詳解部分是按第10一1套題順序排列的。這樣，如需使用本書做集體模擬訓練時，可以按要求分別把要使用的材料拆下來發(fā)給學生使用。3．難度適中。在編寫過程中，我們充分注意到近幾年來學生的英語水平在不斷提高。因此，作為模擬試題集，內(nèi)容應該有一定的難度。大體來講，我們把難度控制在國家標準試題難度相當?shù)乃?，但也有一定?shù)量的試題難度稍高于標準試題水平，這樣做能滿足不同水平學生的需要。
