本書名稱是《同一個世界 英語600句》（one world english 600）（后簡稱《600句》），是《同一世界 英語100句》（后簡稱《100句》）和《同一個世界 英語300句》（后簡稱《300句》）的續(xù)篇。在《100句》中，共收入日常英語中最通用的100句話。在《300句》中，除復(fù)習(xí)100句話外，另收入200個新句子，加起來共300句。這本《600句》，除復(fù)習(xí)上述300句外，又收入了300個新句子。這樣，加起來共600句。為了方便學(xué)習(xí)《600句》的讀者，我們在正文前分別列出“英語100句”和“英語200句”，共300句，建議開始學(xué)習(xí)《600句》的讀者們，先重漫一下那300個句子。《600句》既然是《300句》的續(xù)篇，不言而喻，應(yīng)該說明一下它與《300句》的關(guān)系以及區(qū)別。首先，《600句》既是在《300句》的基礎(chǔ)上編寫的，它就不是初學(xué)教材；應(yīng)在學(xué)好《100句》和《300句》之后來學(xué)習(xí)它。但是，對于曾在學(xué)校中學(xué)過高中英語但后來生疏了的朋友們，直接用《600句》來復(fù)習(xí)，也是可以的。不過，倘若的確已經(jīng)很生疏了，最好還是把《300句》先過一遍，再接著學(xué)《600句》為好。
