The book presents up-to-date information of general biology,status and comservation on all 92 species of the raptors which have been recorded in China.The first part of the text addresses generally classification ,taxonomy,habits,migration,evolution,field identification,raptors and man,threaten,conservationa and research of raptors in China.The second part provieds individual species accounts accounts that cover such subjects as description,subspecies,distribution,habitat,habits,breeding data,and status,as well as a detailed distribution map.The appendixes to the book are the List of Endangered and Protected Species of Raptors in China,and the Distribution Table of Raptors in China.Many full-color photographs illustrated in the book will appeal to everyone interested in raptors and their endangered existence,wshether professional or amateur.
作者簡介
Li Xiangtao,is Research Professor and Director of the Department of Zoology,Beijing Natural History Museum.He is also Offcial Member of the IUCN/SSC/WPA International,Member of a Council of the China Ornithological Society,Secretary General of Beijing Zooloical Sociey,Vivce Editor-in-Chief to the magazine Animal World,and the Special Photographer of the magzine Man and Biosphere. Currently he is working on ornithology and ecology,as well as the public education of wildlife conservation.He has published 5 monographs,10professinonal books,30 research papers and over 100 popular articles.He is the derigner of the exhibition of Animals:the Friends of Humanking in Beijing Natural History Museum,and many other exhibitions of animal protection and environmental protection.He has successively won the Second-class Award of the Progress of Science and Technology,Chinese Academy of Sciences,and Special Award by China Science and Technology Museum Development Fund Committee.
