  1.本教程的編寫(xiě)以《大學(xué)英語(yǔ)教學(xué)大綱[修訂本]》和《大學(xué)英語(yǔ)課程教學(xué)要求[試行]》為依據(jù)。按照這兩個(gè)文件關(guān)于大學(xué)英語(yǔ)各階段(快速)閱讀能力培養(yǎng)所做的定性定量要求,確定所選閱讀材料的題材與體裁、長(zhǎng)度與難度、數(shù)量與編排,等等。2.材料的選擇注意思想性、知識(shí)性、趣味性、可讀性。所選閱讀材料應(yīng)題材廣泛、形式多樣,其內(nèi)容須思想健康,知識(shí)含量高,饒有情趣,耐人尋味,能牢牢吸引讀者。3.閱讀材料的語(yǔ)言規(guī)范標(biāo)準(zhǔn)、純正地道,并兼收標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的英國(guó)英語(yǔ)和美國(guó)英語(yǔ)的材料。語(yǔ)言難度適中,生詞量控制在3%以?xún)?nèi)。4.教程的編寫(xiě)要以有利于教與學(xué)為立足點(diǎn),從框架結(jié)構(gòu)的設(shè)計(jì)、單元的設(shè)立、課文的設(shè)置到練習(xí)的編寫(xiě)與安排,都要盡可能考慮教學(xué)的實(shí)際要求。5.根據(jù)循序漸進(jìn)的原則,各冊(cè)文章的篇幅與難度漸次遞增。一、二冊(cè)每篇250詞至450詞,三、四冊(cè)450詞至650詞之間。6.練習(xí)不僅旨在檢查學(xué)生對(duì)課文的理解,同時(shí)還幫助他們更好地應(yīng)用有關(guān)閱讀技巧,理解課文的重點(diǎn)與難點(diǎn)。結(jié)構(gòu)設(shè)計(jì):教程現(xiàn)分四冊(cè),供四個(gè)學(xué)期選用。按每學(xué)期18周計(jì),每周一個(gè)單元,每?jī)?cè)含18單元,每單元分Text A和Text B。在每?jī)?cè)目錄后第一單元前配“Introduction to Important Reading Skills”。本教程的編寫(xiě)采取“主題與技能”相結(jié)合的路徑,即單元圍繞內(nèi)容的主題設(shè)置,練習(xí)針對(duì)所需掌握的閱讀技能與所要求理解的文章內(nèi)容設(shè)題。練習(xí)包括開(kāi)放性問(wèn)題、正誤判斷、多項(xiàng)選擇、完成句子等四種。除第一種題型外,其余練習(xí)在書(shū)后配有參考答案。因此,每?jī)?cè)教程基本結(jié)構(gòu)如下:使用說(shuō)明(前言)Introduction to Important Reading SkillsText AExerciseText BExerciseKey to Exercises本書(shū)為第4冊(cè)。
