　　20世紀(jì)90年代，英國(guó)埃斯頓大學(xué)語(yǔ)言與社會(huì)研究所組織過幾次關(guān)于翻譯研究的專題論壇，《翻譯與規(guī)范》就是其中一次專題討論的成果，其主要論題圍繞圖里（Gideon Tou ry）和赫曼斯（Theo Hermans）關(guān)于“翻譯規(guī)范”的概念展開，所涉及的問題遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)超出了論題規(guī)定的范圍。與會(huì)者闡述了各自對(duì)“翻譯標(biāo)準(zhǔn)”、“規(guī)范”、“對(duì)等”和“位移”等諸多概念的認(rèn)識(shí)，雖然《翻譯與規(guī)范》最后并未形成一個(gè)統(tǒng)一的結(jié)論，但與會(huì)者的分歧與爭(zhēng)辯卻能加深廣大翻譯研究者對(duì)翻譯研究中的重要概念的理解。
