　　本書以城市環(huán)境為主線，介紹了五個(gè)方面的環(huán)境問題。在第一篇中主要介紹了全球環(huán)境問題和可持續(xù)發(fā)展的基本理念，包括全球環(huán)境問題、城市環(huán)境問題、人居環(huán)境問題、城市的可持續(xù)發(fā)展；第二篇主要介紹了城市的水環(huán)境，包括水的利用和有效性、水質(zhì)參數(shù)、安全飲水、飲用水凈化、供水系統(tǒng)、水污染、廢水的特征、廢水處理技術(shù)、廢水中固體和生物固體的處理、廢水的回用等內(nèi)容；第三篇主要介紹了城市的空氣環(huán)境，包括空氣污染的類型和污染源、空氣污染的環(huán)境效應(yīng)、顆粒污染物的控制、氣態(tài)污染物的控制和大氣環(huán)境影響評(píng)價(jià)；第四篇主要介紹了城市的固體廢物處理以及聲環(huán)境的保護(hù)，包括城市固體廢物的特征、固體廢物的產(chǎn)生、有害廢物的貯存和處理，噪聲對(duì)健康的影響、噪聲的控制；第五篇以城市的生態(tài)環(huán)境為主，主要介紹了城市樹木綠地的環(huán)境效益、綠地減緩大氣顆粒物污染、屋頂綠化的結(jié)構(gòu)和功能、生態(tài)城市建設(shè)。為了保證內(nèi)容的完整性，還有一部分閱讀材料對(duì)課程的內(nèi)容做一補(bǔ)充，以便于根據(jù)課時(shí)選擇使用。為了使該教材能發(fā)揮更大的作用，在教材中增加四個(gè)附錄，一是為如何進(jìn)行科學(xué)寫作，二是科技論文寫作的一些技巧，三是英文摘要的寫作技巧，四是與環(huán)境科學(xué)相關(guān)的一些網(wǎng)站，希望能對(duì)學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)提供一些幫助。
