In the process of creation, Liu always proceeds from traditional patterns, and expresses them with her own unique and delicate way, giving the traditional papercut fresh glamour. Although Liu has spread her name abroad, she remains low- key. "I understand papercutting, and I know it is a good thing. For me, art is first and fame is secondary. Those who do not understand the art tend to think that paper is just paper. I just live my day and don't think about tomorrow," she once said.
