Professor Zhao’S love for the motherlandis profound. No maRer where he speaks or on whatever topics, heupholds the position of China and principles guiding the common cause of the progress of mankind. In clear-cut terms and betweenthelines,he ardently appeals for world peace and common development.Once in Taipei,he made an important speech which specifically emphasizes that both sides of the Taiwan Straits belong to one and the same China. His love for the people is touching.Though an elevated and renowned scholar,he soberly regards himself as one of the grassroots-level masses and loses no opportunity to speak for them.
