《高級體驗英語：綜合教程1》為《綜合教程》系列第一冊，共階單元，每個單元包含5個部分。第一部分（part one：warming up）是熱身練習(xí)。該部分以閱讀和視聽材料的學(xué)習(xí)為主。一方面給學(xué)生提供一些語言樣本，另一方面的引發(fā)學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)興趣。其中一部分練習(xí)活動為后面的活動作內(nèi)容或語言上的準備。在語言技能訓(xùn)練上，本部分以接收性（即聽、讀）訓(xùn)練為主，輔之以適當?shù)漠a(chǎn)出性技能訓(xùn)練。學(xué)生可以在課內(nèi)，也可以在課前自主完成該部分內(nèi)容。第二部分（part two：initializing the proiect）通過一系列學(xué)習(xí)活動，讓學(xué)生從語言、格式、文化、技巧等方面對本單元將要完成的項目進行學(xué)習(xí)。學(xué)習(xí)活動的設(shè)計既照顧到交際性，也包含對語言形式和文化知識的學(xué)習(xí)。在語言技能訓(xùn)練上，本部分既注重接受性（即聽、讀）訓(xùn)練，也包含適當?shù)漠a(chǎn)出性技能訓(xùn)練。第三部分（part three：exploring the field）是單元學(xué)習(xí)的重點。這一部分提供一到兩個項目結(jié)果樣本或參考文本等。材料為閱讀篇章，類似于傳統(tǒng)教材中的主課文，或精讀課文。在語言技能訓(xùn)練上，本部分以輸入性訓(xùn)練為主，同時也包含適當?shù)漠a(chǎn)出性（即寫、說）訓(xùn)練。第四部分（part four：constructing the proiect）是項目完成階段，也是每個單元的核心部分。這一部分的主要任務(wù)是提供項目執(zhí)行過程中的各個階段與步驟的描述與指導(dǎo)，幫助學(xué)生收集相關(guān)資料，提供項目結(jié)果的最終呈現(xiàn)方式，同時要求學(xué)生在課上或課后展示和介紹項目結(jié)果。聽眾同時對其他同學(xué)的項目結(jié)果以及他們的展示或匯報進行評估。在語言技能訓(xùn)練上，本部分以產(chǎn)出性技能訓(xùn)練為主，同時強調(diào)學(xué)生在項目完成過程中的自主閱讀與聽力訓(xùn)練。第五部分（part five：assessing learning）為學(xué)生提供一個反思的機會，回顧自己在本單元的學(xué)習(xí)過程中都做了些什么，學(xué)了些什么，效果如何，還有哪些欠缺之處，下一步有什么打算等。
