　　《赴美實用英語手冊：求學篇》是一本為準備去美國求學的中國學生準備的實用英語口語手冊。書中的絕大部分內(nèi)容，是國內(nèi)各級院校和英語培訓機構(gòu)所使用的教材中所無法提供的。本書的兩位作者，均為上個世紀八十年代從國內(nèi)高校赴美攻讀英語語言文學博士學位的英語教師。其中的一位已在美國生活了近30年，是美國高校的終身教授，他的兒子即將從美國大學畢業(yè)。另一位于1986年回國后，曾八次重返美國。這樣兩位作者的創(chuàng)意和合作，真可謂是這樣一套實用性叢書的絕佳搭檔。

作者簡介

　　何其莘：教授、博士生導師。曾在英國?？巳卮髮W作訪問學者（中英友好獎學金項目）和美國印第安那州立大學作訪問學者（富布萊特項目）。研究課題有英語詞匯學、詞典學、英語教學與詞典使用、英語專業(yè)基礎(chǔ)階段教學（尤其是精讀和寫作）。曾出版《英國戲劇選讀》、《英國戲劇史》、《新概念英語》（新版）（共10冊）等。曾獲優(yōu)秀教學成果獎陜西省一等獎等榮譽，曾被評為全國教育戰(zhàn)線勞動模范，被授予“人民教師”勛章。楊孝明：教授，1977年畢業(yè)于西安外國語大學，獲學士學位，留校認教。1984年赴英國學習，并于1985年和1991年先后獲得英語諾丁漢大學語言學碩士和美國俄亥俄州鮑陵格林州立大學英語博士學位，現(xiàn)為美國新澤西海洋學院終身教授，美國"現(xiàn)代語言協(xié)會"和"全美英語教師聯(lián)合會"永久會員。楊孝明教授在學術(shù)研究方面也很有成績，迄今已出版中、英文學術(shù)專著4部，譯著1部，其英文專著The Rhetoric of Propaganda 和Error of Creativity在英國牛津大學、劍橋大學、哈佛大學、耶魯大學等大學圖書館均有收藏。
