現(xiàn)代化既是一個(gè)世界現(xiàn)象，又是一種文明進(jìn)步。它不僅改變了18世紀(jì)以來的世界政治、經(jīng)濟(jì)、社會(huì)和文化生活，還促進(jìn)了人類發(fā)展、生態(tài)文明和國(guó)際體系的變遷，同時(shí)有助于文化多樣性長(zhǎng)期存在。世界各國(guó)都在開展某種現(xiàn)代化建設(shè)，都把實(shí)現(xiàn)現(xiàn)代化作為一個(gè)發(fā)展目標(biāo)。2019年5月，“第三屆世界現(xiàn)代化論壇暨第十七期中國(guó)現(xiàn)代化研究論壇”在北京中國(guó)科技會(huì)堂成功舉行，來自亞洲、歐洲和美洲的80多位學(xué)者出席論壇，論壇聯(lián)合主席共同簽署了《世界現(xiàn)代化論壇章程》?！禛lobal Modernization Review （III）： Modernization and Human Development》是第三屆世界現(xiàn)代化論壇的主要成果，包含現(xiàn)代化與人類發(fā)展、教育現(xiàn)代化與人類發(fā)展、現(xiàn)代科技與人的現(xiàn)代化、健康現(xiàn)代化與人類發(fā)展、生態(tài)現(xiàn)代化與人類發(fā)展、生活質(zhì)量與現(xiàn)代化等，反映了現(xiàn)代化研究的國(guó)際前沿和熱點(diǎn)。
