　　本書為浙江省文物考古研究所編著的《反山》發(fā)掘報(bào)告的英文版。反山位于良渚古城城內(nèi)莫角山宮殿的西北部，姜家山的北面，是一座人工堆筑的長方形土墩。1986年，浙江省文物考古研究所對(duì)其進(jìn)行了發(fā)掘，在土墩上發(fā)現(xiàn)11座良渚文化時(shí)期的大型墓葬，共出土陶、石、玉、象牙、嵌玉漆器等1200余組。這是浙江省考古工作者首次發(fā)掘到隨葬有玉器而且還是許多高等級(jí)玉器的良渚文化大型墓葬。從一發(fā)現(xiàn)開始，到現(xiàn)在良渚古城的發(fā)現(xiàn)與研究，反山墓地的發(fā)現(xiàn)為從整體上考察良渚文化的社會(huì)分化與分工、對(duì)認(rèn)識(shí)良渚古城的城內(nèi)布局、對(duì)良渚玉器的解讀等，都提供了一批非常重要的資料。
